Each year, the SSC conducts the CHSL Tier-I exam in multiple shifts, so the distribution of topics and questions for each subject (English, Mathematics, Reasoning & General Awareness) between each shift may vary. Therefore, Sankalp Institute has compiled a comprehensive overview of the number of questions by topic from all shifts combined to present aspirants a complete overview of the approximate count of questions by topic.

The purpose of this topic-wise analysis is to give aspirants a better insight into the recurring trends in the exam and how to build effective strategies for studying based on high-weightage topics. Candidates can prepare for the SSC CHSL Tier-I examination through focused study plans based on topic breakdowns derived from the study of past SSC CHSL Tier-I exams by Sankalp Institute for eleven years (2015-25). Earlier, higher weightage questions were evaluated at different times during the development of the exam from 2015 to 2025.

Additionally, candidates will have a better idea of how many times specific topics have appeared in previous years, and therefore they will feel more confident and better prepared to manage their time on exam day based on their knowledge of the exam structure and expected question distributions across the four subject areas: English, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness.

From this analysis, we can see that for the four subject areas, participants can expect certain higher frequency topics to appear on the question paper (in most cases, they will see at least one or two instances of the higher frequency topic), such as: Spotting Errors, Sentence Improvement, and Reading Comprehension as English topics; Number System, Simplification, and Algebra as Math Topics; Seating Arrangement and Puzzles as Reasoning Topics; and History, Polity, Geography, and Science as General Awareness Topics.

Therefore, as part of their exam preparation, candidates should target the higher frequency topics and design their study plans accordingly to be more efficient and effective in using their time effectively, rather than just "hoping" they will get the right answer. Since the analysis is based on both historical data and expert opinion, candidates should use the trends to recognize and focus on the higher frequency topics to maximize their chances to score.

As a result of this evidence-based, strategic, and outcome-driven strategy, candidates who follow into the future, based on this data and trends in preparation, will take full advantage of the study plan provided by Sankalp Institute to succeed on the exam, and therefore, candidates will have a significant advantage over their competitors.
