Sankalp Institute Garhwa Branch Invites Everyone To Saraswati Puja 2026; Puja Samiti & Guidelines Announced

Vasant Panchami is the greatest religious festival of Hinduism. This day is celebrated each year to honour Goddess Saraswati – the symbol of Divine Knowledge and Wisdom, Learning, the Arts, Music, and Intellect. In 2026, Vasant Panchami falls on January 23rd (a Friday) and at Sankalp Institute Garhwa, the Saraswati Puja is held with great devotion, discipline, and in accordance with tradition to reflect the sacred commitment of the Institute to education, cultural heritage, and holistic development of students.

According to the Hindu Calendar (Panchang), the Muhurat for the Saraswati Puja on Vasant Panchami 2026 will take place from 6:39 AM until 12:07 PM, which is a total of 5 hours and 28 minutes. The Panchami Tithi will start at 2:28 AM on January 23rd, 2026, and will end at 1:46 AM on January 24th, 2026. This time from sunrise until midday is known as the Purvahna Kala, and it is believed that if someone performs the Saraswati Puja during this time, it is a very auspicious time to receive blessings from the Goddess for their success and achievement in their studies. That is why most educational institutions, including Sankalp Institute, prefer to conduct the puja in the morning so that they can receive God’s blessings for their students’ academic success.

For a long time, Vasant Panchami has been an important holiday associated with education, signifying the devotion to learning as well as the beginning of growth in the intellect. During this festival, students also worship Goddess Saraswati to help them achieve a clearer understanding of their thoughts and enhanced abilities to remember information they have learned. In addition, the ritual called Vidya Arambham (Akshar Abhyasam) represents the beginning of a student's educational journey and is thought to eliminate a student's ignorance and apathy toward their studies. In keeping with this tradition, Vasant Panchami serves as a reminder to all students enrolled at Sankalp Institute to continue to strive for discipline, dedication, and the desire to learn throughout one's lifetime, no matter how old one may be.

Many scholars and astrologers believe that Vasant Panchami is an Abujha Muhurat because it is a day when there is no time period of muhurat (i.e., time window) needed to perform a good deed or create something positive. Therefore, the entire day is viewed as appropriate for starting any activity that is academic in nature, planning for educational purposes, doing creative work, or engaging in other types of intellectual endeavors. However, the traditional view still holds that it is best to perform the Saraswati Puja when the full moon (Panchami Tithi) is still rising, which will maximize the potential spiritual benefit one receives.

The Sankalp Institute believes that education is more than just about the books you read and the exams you take. It believes that education is about who you are as a person, what values you hold, and what culture you represent. Through the establishment of Saraswati Puja each year, the Sankalp Institute seeks to create an environment where students will learn to appreciate knowledge and educators, thus promoting a positive attitude towards learning. When students, teachers, and staff come together to participate in the puja collectively, it affects all members of the academic community through a feeling of unity and spiritual connectedness.

With modern society becoming increasingly competitive and fast-paced, there is a need for all of us to seek a balance between the two. Festivals such as Vasant Panchami serve as a reminder of this need and remind us of the importance of combining the teachings of our past with those we are receiving today. Through the celebration of Saraswati Puja 2026, the Sankalp Institute continues to support its mission of guiding students towards not only academic success but also providing the moral fortitude needed to navigate their way through life, the intellectual clarity to make sound decisions based upon their education, and the cultural awareness necessary to live in a diverse and multicultural world. The Sankalp Institute offers prayers to Goddess Saraswati for all students so they receive the blessings of success, the gift of wisdom, and a bright future.
